If you’re like me, you love good specialty coffee. Maybe a little too much. Whether it’s the bold blackness of a pour-over, the frothy foam on top of a cappuccino, or the fancy flavors mixed into a latte, coffee brings out the artist in all of us.
(But also, I can’t function without it. Don’t even try talking to me before 8:00 AM.)
Every home barista wants to brew a café-quality beverage with ease. Mastering those artful concoctions can impress your friends, save you money, and, at the least, make you look forward to waking up in the morning.
It’s true. We’re all really jealous of that seamlessly talented barista downtown.
Sometimes, though it’s difficult to know where to begin. When you’re just starting out, you can easily get lost in all the talk about sourcing, roasting, grinding, brewing, steaming, frothing, singing, chanting, dancing, weeping, and everything else that transforms a cup of coffee from your dad’s wake-me-up into a morning delight.
That’s why I created this website. A Beautiful Taste shortens the gap between beginners at home and seasoned baristas behind the bar. It’s meant to be a guide for myself and others who are just getting started in this whole new world of coffee.
During this voyage we need to study the ins and outs of classic brewing techniques, choosing the best beans, and purchasing the right equipment. And when we want to expand our skills and refresh our knowledge, this website will be the place we go to.
